Leisure Horse Ireland are an agency approved by the EU and Irish Department of Agriculture to issue equine Identification documents. Leisure Horse Ireland do not breed, buy or sell horses & donkeys. Breeders and Dealers avail of our services to obtain the correct identification papers for their horses, so (and we are asked many times) we do not have pictures of these equine when they were foals and if breeding is not recorded in the passport, we will not have that information. In situations where you do need this information, your best option presently is to write to the first registering keeper. Under current data protection laws we are not permitted to provide registrants email addresses or contact phone numbers.

The Irish Piebald & Skewbald Association Ltd t/a Leisure Horse Ireland (formerly known as The IPSA) is a studbook for Piebald & Skewbald (coloured) horses and their progeny, a separate register for solid colour animals with no pedigree recorded that do not meet the criteria any studbook and The Irish Donkey Studbook.

  • Main Stud Book
    • Class 1 Coloured horses with both sire and dam recorded (Black Book)
    • Class 2 Whole (Solid) coloured horses with sire and dam recorded (Black Book)
  • Supplementary Coloured horses with either sire or dam recorded or neither recorded (Red Book)
  • ID Register All other horses that do not qualify above and neither sire or dam recorded (Purple Book)
  • Irish Donkey Studbook (Blue Book)
